MTV Wants Charisma in “Prospect Park West”
‘Sex and the City’ To Head Over The Bridge To … Brooklyn?
Sarah Jessica Parker can’t seem to get enough “Sex.” The 44-year-old actress/producer has reportedly purchased the rights to the soon-to-be released novel “Prospect Park West,” a sort of “Sex and the City” meets “Desperate Housewives” penned by New York magazine dating columnist Amy Sohn, with plans to turn the story into a TV show.
“Prospect Park West” follows four mothers living in the baby-buggie-friendly borough of Brooklyn, and is described as a mix of “sex, parenthood and celebrity.”
Though we don’t know much about the characters beyond short descriptions given by Publisher’s Weekly, we thought we’d give SJP a hand and take a stab at casting the series (no word yet on whether Ms. Parker will reserve a role for herself).
Mommy #1: Lizzie, “whose lesbian proclivities mask her loneliness”
“Charmed” star Alyssa Milano (pictured abvove left) is sultry enough to make us want to bat for the other team.Mommy #2: Rebecca, “whose libidoless spouse prefers his role as dad over husband”
Keri Russell’s already got the Brooklynite mama-thing down pat — she’s currently raising her son River in the borough.Mommy #3: Karen, “a social-climbing conniver”
We know “Buffy” star Charisma Carpenter can play cattie (Hello, Cordelia!), and it’s been way too long since we’ve seen her pretty face on screen.Mommy #4: Melora, “a former Manhattanite whose psychiatric maladies are as pathetic as they are numerous”
In her now-defunct series “Cupid,” Sarah Paulson played the titular character’s no-nonsense shrink, but we’re more excited to see her on the couch this time around.Who would you like to see cast in the possible TV version of “Prospect Park West”?
